Why e-mailing on a Friday Afternoon is as Useful as a Chocolate Tea Pot!
And a free month in the Monday Club
I am SO sorry for the same e-mail twice in one day … I’ve been having a Substack tech issue … This version should allow for comments and responses.
‘e-mail your subscribers on a Friday afternoon’,
said no one, anywhere, ever …
But e-mail I did … Why?
In all honesty, I’d planned to send the last newsleter/blog on Wednesday, but I didn’t
Because my week ran away with me …
Because Millie and I went out walking …
Because I doubted what I wanted to say …
And because I spent too many hours editing and playing around with sentence construction, divider lines, and general polishing …
And what happened?
Nothing … that’s what happened … no links were opened, no messages received, and my latest outdoorsy-inspired writerly thoughts mostly went awol into un-opened e-mail land.
Well ‘almost’ nothing, when learning what speaking into the void meant, my thoughful partner left an encouraging word and heart emoji, to keep me going …
And it did, it perked me up and gave me hope.
All writers need that bit of cheerleading … but that doesn’t do away with the fact that my Friday afternoon e-mail was as useful to you as a chocolate teapot!

And because it landed at a time when most people are likely switching off from the business of e-mails and admin … it meant that the Monday Club FREE 30-day offer went largely unnoticed.
Or unwanted … but as I’m a glass-half-full kind of girl, I’m choosing to believe the former.
So, What is the Monday Club?
Well, mostly it’s place for members to ‘be’ … You don’t need to ‘do’ anything.
Just by reading or listening to the weekly e-mail, you can know that I am
Thinking of you
Holding space for you, and
Cheering you on - in your heart-felt writerly week ahead.
Because that is who the Monday Club is for - Heart and soul-led writers, showing up in our lives AND on the page. Whether that be in public or private.
However, members who wish to ‘do’ something - the Monday Club is also about having a little bit of journal and chat time.
Journal Time
Each Monday, I send an e-mail with an encouraging comment & journal prompt …
Journaling, exploratory writing, morning pages … whatever you would like to call it … has tonnes of value in helping us process thoughts, feelings, and emotions - and is a reminder to slow down, take some time, and see what wise words we have for ourselves.
… your response is for your eyes only.
Chat Time
There will also be an invite to share (will only be seen by Monday Club members) should you wish to.
Your journal prompt thoughts/feelings/inspirations
Your life / writerly life week ahead
Any words of encouragement or greeting to fellow Monday Clubbers
Members receive oodles of encouragement & cheerleading from a certified book coach & intuitive writing mentor … that’s me!
Ideal for beginner writers, dreamers, and deep thinkers looking to gain confidence & more experienced writers seeking exploration, motivation, and inspiration.
The Monday Club is for paid Subscribers. But this month you can get it FREE :-)
Are you unsure if the Monday Club is for you?
If you are a dreamer, explorer, or deep (ish) thinker … I think you’ll love it. As much as anything it’s me holding space for you, whether you show up in the comments or not.
There is no expectation for you to remain a club member after your free pass(es) expire. This is a genuine invite for you to enjoy some nurturing time for you - and see if the Monday Club is something you would like more of in your life.
